Joe Harris joins the 2013-2014 Global Solo Race
The American yachtsman, Joe Harris, is the first entry in the 2013-2014 Global Solo Race - a single-handed round the world race sailing Class 40's announced at the Solo sailing festival earlier this year.
The race will start in Europe in on November 11th in 2013. With stop overs in Cape Town South Africa and Punta del Este, Uruguay the fleet will compete across three legs. Two through the North and South Atlantic and one 13,000 mile southern Ocean leg rounding the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn.
Having just launched his new class 40, Gryphon Solo 2, a new generation Akilaria RC2 - Joe has began his campaign, sailing with Josh Hall in the Normandy Channel race.
