I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is moving forward into Christmas mode. It is amazing how time flies, as last year at this time I was approaching Cape Town aboard GS2, not too far off where the Vendee Globe fleet is right now.
Like many of you, I have been following that race at www.vendeeglobe.org/en and it has been a fantastic race thus far, with race leaders Armel Le Cleac’h and Alex Thomson setting a record-breaking pace. If you are missing your GS2 daily fix, the Vendee is a good replacement!
Fellow New Englander Rich Wilson is also racing in the Vendee and we have been communicating as he approaches the Indian Ocean. Rich has a wonderful education program for kids which you can find at his www.SitesAlive.com web site.
I have also been doing a fair bit of public speaking, and have created a multimedia presentation about the circumnavigation, and also about the formation and pursuit of the dream over a thirty year time period. The presentation has been pretty well-received thus far, so please have a look at http://www.gryphonsolo2.com/page/speaking and drop me a line if you have a group that might be interested.
Wishing all of you very happy holidays- and please send on your news.
