Open House Event

Hello friends

A final reminder about the open house event at Newport Shipyard (One Washington St, Newport RI) from 1:00 to 4:00 tomorrow, Saturday November 7. People can tour the boat and we will do some demonstrations of how the boat works with sails going up and down etc.

From 3:00 to 4:00 we will have some speakers:

• Ken Campbell from Commander's Weather to talk about the route and expected weather
• Naval Architect Merf Owen to talk about Class 40's and where Gs2 fits in to the spectrum
• Herb McCormick-  sailing author and Executive Editor of Cruising World Magazine to discuss the history of solo racing from Newport
• Wrap up from Joe Harris

We will have some NE clam chowder available and beer/ water or folks can order from the menu at Belle's Cafe at the Shipyard. 

Should be a lot of fun and the weather continues to look mild.
